[ Travelogue : 4 Happy Souls in BKK'16 ]

Hello guys! How's everyone doing so far?

I can't remember when was the last time since I last blogged. Probably like 6 months ago? *cries*
A warm welcome back to everyone who is reading this right now and apologies for leaving this place empty for the past 6 months. Just came back from Bangkok with my favourite people. We had really good times there which I can't wait to share with you guys! Not only go for shopping but we also went for cafe hopping to spent some quality time together because the very last time four of us sit down and chit chat together was actually one year ago. Keep scrolling to find out more!

(1) Som Tam Nua

I was cracking my head to think where should I bring them for lunch. Always wanted to bring them to try out authentic Thai dishes and this restaurant actually came across my mind cause I myself love this restaurant. I will actually visit here everytime when I'm back in BKK. Famous for their papaya salad (Som Tam) and chicken wings and highly raved among locals and tourists.

My girlfriend and shopping partner for this amazing trip!

What have we ordered:

Somtam with dry shrimp and peanut, Northwest style spicy soup with pork bone, lemongrass pork and fried chicken.  I love how sticky rice goes well with all of the dishes. Big thumb up for their fried chicken!

(2) Bonca Cookie Ice-cream

Happened to come across these cute macaron ice-cream via some Instagram feeds which I couldn't resist at all at my first sight. Try to imagine your favourite macaron and ice-cream can finally became a perfect combo served with different type of toppings.

We were spoilt for choice because all of them are too cute to resist. After a mere 5 minutes discussion, we ended up with one Elmo and Minion macaron.

We spotted a gem right opposite Plantinum Fashion Mall, which was a food truck selling gorgeous japanese soft serve cones. They offer matcha and charcoal flavours.

Look at the pretty swirl!

(4) Bangkok Street Food

25 baht for this omelette bento is definately worth for a try.

Getting our cha yen crave fixed in the early morning.

(5) Wat Arun - The temple of dawn

The most beautiful temple I've ever visited given the beautiful architecture and the fine craftsmanship. I was truly amazed by every tiny details. Unfortunately we couldn't make to the top of Wat Arun as there were some renovations going on.

Who says Bangkok is only a shopping paradise when there are some many beautiful temples for you to visit?

(6) The Rome Restaurant

One of our must-go places - The Rome Restaurant that just opened back in Dec 2015. The whole restaurant was designed in Rome themed. One of the most special feature of this restaurant is that some of the seats were located in the middle of the pool and some beanie bag seating area around the pool. FYI seats that located in the middle of the pool are reserved from 8 pax and above so remember to make advance booking just in case they ran out of seats. If you're looking to dine in open air restaurant, make sure you give this amazing restaurant a try. They served western and local cuisines at affordable prices too.

Just chilling with my drink.

Passed by this humble Korean inspired cafe located just a stone away from our hotel and we decided to give it a go without any further hesitation. I mean who doesn't want to have a bowl of soft yet pillowy bingsu especially in such heaty weather. Not forget to mention that the interior was so cozy as well.
Hey bingsu lovers out there! Make sure you don't miss this out.

Bingsu served with several toppings such as cornflakes, red bean paste and some residual melon.

(11) The Best of the Boat Noodles

We made a special trip down to Victory Monument just to try the best boat noodle (Kuay Tiau Rua). There are several stalls selling boat noodles at the area so make sure you go for the right one. Look for waiters in orange shirt.

12 baht per bow so I guess you can imagine how the portion be like. It's extremely small.
Thus, we just ordered 8 bowls straight away. I can finally try the original and authentic boat noodle in Thailand!
